- Wednesday September 28 Read Stage 3 About the Language and do Stage 3 Practicing the Language A-C; read cultural sections in Stages 2 and 3; learn all the vocab in the Vocab Checklists in Stages 2 and 3; reread the story "Pictor" and then translate the following into Latin: A big lion enters the dining room. No food is on the table. The lion is not happy. Caecilius also enters the dining room. Caecilius sees the lion. Caecilius is not happy. Look! The big lion eats the banker. The lion is very happy. - Friday September 31 Stage 4 Practicing the Language A-D; read Stage 4 cultural sections and learn Stage 4 Vocab Checklist. Know sum, es, est and be able to recognize the -ō, -s, -t endings of verbs.

- Wednesday October 12 Study for a Stages 1-7 vocab quiz. Remember that on English-to-Greek, I expect you to give the full Form as they give it to you (for example, laudat: laudavit, or leo: leonem) with long marks.
- Friday October 13 Reread the Stage 8 comic and master the info in the Stage 8 About the Language I (be ready for a quiz). Read the Stage 8 culture sections and learn the Stage 8 Vocab Checklist, remembering that you need to learn nominative:accusative for nouns where these are both listed, and present:perfect for verbs.
- Monday October 17 Carefully reread the Stage 8 About the Language sections (I and II) and master the new forms in Stage 8. Sort the verbs in the handout by how they form their perfect stems...-āt becoming -āvit, -et becoming -uit, vowel lengthening, adding an -s- sound, reduplication, -it becoming -īvit, no change, and perhaps a group of leftovers. Get ready now for the quiz on Wednesday. Make a beautiful translation of "Pastor et leō," paying careful attention to verb tenses.
