For Monday January 23, please look through Benner's notes on Homeric grammar (pp. 349-397...just look through it...you aren't expected to know all this yet) and work carefully through the first 21 lines. Read the first Book in translation...I prefer Fagles, and there's a Penguin of Fagles in the Classics Library amongst the Homer books. Lattimore and Fitzgerald are also good.

On Monday at 7:15, we'll meet in the Classics Library and scan and read!

Passages to be read: 1.148-171; 3.383-427; 6.390-529; 16.1-96; 16.829-861; 22.99-167; 22.331-360; 24.486-517. Be ahead of the day's assignments in the English translation.
