- Friday September 28 Get yout text if you can and bring it to class!
- Monday October 1 You *must* have a text for class...if you don't have a real text, please print up the .pdf available as an ecommons resource. For homework, learn the alphabet and practice writing it, and sound out all the words in the pronunciation drills on p.11 of the handout given out in class. Then try to sound out the first reading in Athenaze 1α, on p. 3, about our hero Dikaiopolis.
- Wednesday October 3 Read all of 1α, and read the story carefully...translate it and practice speaking it aloud. Study the vocabulary for 1α
- Friday October 5 Vocab quiz for 1α; translate and practice reading aloud the story from 1β. Finish all exercises from 1β.
- Monday October 8 Read 2α; translate and practice reading aloud the story from 2α; learn new vocab.
- Wednesday October 10 Read 2β; translate and practice reading aloud the story from 2β; learn new vocab. We will do exercises in class.
- Friday October 12 Big double quiz through 2β; see eCommons for a practice noun declension chart and verb synopsis chart; there will also be vocab and a couple of sentences.
- Monday October 15 Read through all of 3α, including the "culture section" at the end. Practice the story we read in class, and do exx. 3α and 3β (no need to label functions).
- Wednesday October 17 Read through 3β; practice the story we read in class and do exercises 3γ, 3δ, and 3ζ. Learn the new noun forms (plurals of the second declension, masculine and neuter) including the articles!
- Friday October 19 Quiz on noun forms, second declension masculines and neuters, including the articles. Sample here. Finish reading the story in 4α and read the rest of ; begin learning the new verbs froms and nouns of the first declension.
- Monday October 22 Quiz on noun forms, first declension feminines (all 4 types), including the articles. Translate and practice the story in 4β, then do exercises 4ι and 4κ.
- Wednesday October 24 Quiz on first declension masculines (both types), including the articles. Read through all of 5α, including the "culture section" at the end. Finish and practice the opening story we began in class.
- Friday October 26 Vocab quiz through 5β; read and practice story that begins 5β.
- Monday October 29 Read 6α; we will discuss the middle voice more in class. Read and practice the translation of the opening story in 6α.
- Wednesday October 31 Do exercises 6δ, 6ε, 6ζ, and 6η.
- Friday November 2 Quiz on present indicative, imperative, and infinitive active. Sample here. Read story that begins 6β.
- Monday November 5 Quiz on present indicative, imperative, and infinitive active and middle. Sample here.
- Wednesday November 7 Midterm: vocab 1-6; noun declension (ὁ ἀγρός, τὸ δένδρον, ἡ κρήνη, ἡ ὑδρίᾱ, ἡ μέλιττᾰ, ἡ μάχαιρᾰ, ὁ δεσπότης, ὁ Ξανθίᾱς); present indicative active and middle; present imperative active and middle, present infinitive active and middle of μένω, φιλέω, τῑμάω; sentences to translate from Greek to English.
- Friday November 9 Read through 7α, and translate and practice story which begins 7α.
- Monday November 12 HOLIDAY
- Wednesday November 14 Vocab quiz through 7β; learn new third-declension forms (ὁ φύλαξ, ὁ / ἡ αἴξ, ὁ παῖς, τὸ ὄνομα) and do exercises 7α, 7β, and 7γ.

- Monday November 19 Read through Chapter 8α, and carefully translate and practice story which begins 8α.

- Monday November 26 Read through all of 8β, and finish the story that begins 8β. Do exercises 8δ, 8ε, and 8ζ. Review all vocab through 8β.
- Wednesday November 28 Do 8β exercise ε (English to Greek sentences).
- Friday November 30 Read through all of 9α, and finish the story that begins it. If you are not good at forms of the third declension, now is the time to get them straight. Sample quiz here; see p. 125. Do exercises 9β and 9δ.
- Monday December 3 Onward to 9β! Read and practice the story which begins it, and learn the forms of ἡ πόλις and ὁ βασιλέυς and do exercises 9ε and 9ζ.
- Wednesday December 5 Reread and practice the story which begins 9β, and read the passage of Luke on p. 151. Read the story about Odysseus and Circe on pp. 149-150, and study the "review of verb forms" on pp. 152-153; these are the forms for which you will be responsible on the final exam.
